THE OLD MAN AND SEWING MACHINE....

The one thing in this world that no one hates is rain. But i remember the kinder garden rhyme "rain rain go away.come again another day".
There are many reasons why i like rain.To say in poetic way,i like to watch the crying of clouds(though i am not a sadist). It satifies the unsatisfied thirst of the land(also people too).It gives a free bath to all the plants and animals (also for some humans who are not taking bath). It goes on........
Sometimes i hate rains....cos it does not allow us to roam outside freely. It doesn't allows our clothes to dry properly. Finally when it reaches the extreme,it takes away not only the properties of humans, also the most valuable human life.
The following picture states about the village people who are cursing the rain one year for not showing its presence......
and the immediate next year they curse it for washing away all their properties....
(Ok lets start taking our camera.... which moves to a village.....)I know that the moment when you all read 'village', your imagination goes around those greenfields, cattles, hard working farmers, good people, the good and fresh ambience.....
But..............
There is an extreme opposite case in the village where we are moving about. It should be the rainy season but the sun refusing the rain to settle down as if its an extened summer. All the farmers who have harvested in this month are eagerly waiting to welcome the monsoon.Poor farmers, who dont know that they are being cheated this time.
There lived a old farmer who falls in our camera(unknowingly). To say about this farmer,we can say in a short word as a 'hard worker'.This word may be small to spell, but to live.....its really damn difficult.
To shoot this farmers activities in our camera we have to get up early in the morning(before the sun says 'good morning') and travel with him.The first work he does is he feeds his cattles. His cattle population must be around 20 to 30.But the care he shows towards all of them are equal. He then takes milk from them and sell them to the nearby village which is 2 miles away(oh...not nearby).
Then....the time must be around 8'o clock(camera's wake up time). He moves to his farm land where he does his hereditary occupation(agriculture). He does all the activities such as ploughing, watering, sowing, weeding, harvesting (where this generation boys and girls don't know them). He works till the sun is midway on his journey. Then he takes his food.(hope...they are not be having breakfast...so this is the first food for the day). After his lunch he tries to do some more work and then in the evening he moves to his home(sorry our camera sleeps in the noon). In the evening he spends time with his wife.(no children...)
The moment he lands up in the home he watches his wife who is sewing the clothes with the old sewing machine. The secret about the sewing machine is that it should be gifted by our farmer. Our farmer adviced her to throw away that and he will get her a new one after the harvesting, which she refused it.(might be cos of love(towards machine or farmer? donno...))

The dark evening passes for the family with the hope that 'they will live tommorow'.This routine life continues for them(to say in mordern words.....farmer's life sucks!!!)
There are near about 200 families in that village(sorry, our camera has captured the life of this family only).
All these families are eagerly awaiting or expecting only one thing is "RAIN".

After some days all these expectation turned into vain and they started cursing god who has not cared them. Some farmers committed suicide, cos they are not able to repay the loan as the monsoon failed their expectations.(well thats not the trend of farming committing suicide).
Some bold villagers in that village managed to live in that pathetic situation.
(our camera goes back to city....takes rest for a year then returns back to that same village).
The early monsoon showered not only water also some happiness to these farmers life.(pity farmers who do not know that this happiness going to ruin their life completely).

Our farmer is really happy about the investment he made and he expecting a lot some after the harvesting.(camera could trace that happiness).

He once again insisted her that he will get her this time a new sewing machine, where she refused this time too(poor old lady not able to grab the golden opportunity).
The flood time started(climax too). All these villagers lived in the low level land.So they were requested to move, where some obeyed and others denied.(our camera was safe and capturing our farmer). All their farm lands are now covered by the water. This time they cursed the god for the causal of floods.
This is the hard time for the farmers to leave their properties and to leave the place. As the flood increasing day-by-day our farmer stayed there with the confidence that the rains will settle down. Finally our farmer realized he and his wife should survive....so he let the cattles out and he took his bullock cart(his formula F1 car....yeah it got awards in local 'reklar race').
He and she took some important things and tried to move from that place. They found a huge flood chasing them back. Finally they got to the top level land.(our camera travelled with them and reached a safe place now).
Our farmer seeing his lady weeping went near to console her.She said that she has left that old sewing machine in the home. The farmer jumped into the water and dissappeared.(not possible for our camera to follow him)...
Even after a long time our farmer has not turned which caused fear in the mind of that poor old lady.(camera was ready to pack up with the bad ending of this story.....)
But everyone in that place saw someone in a far distance and they are eagerly waiting for him(camera zoom lens not working.....so not able to see who is that man)....
When he neared by,everyone recognized it's our old farmer, carrying the love of his lady.
(camera weeped first time in its history).........

This story may depict two things love and also the story of farmers cursing the rains always. The poor rain donno when to start and when to stop....getting the curse from all these farmers through out the country.

Its a inspiration from a tamil novel by vairamuthu. Thanks to him and also to the camera which travels along with u.
